The Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance (LARSO) is LA’s rent control law, which limits how much rent can go up each year. The rent increase formula in LARSO, which determines annual rent increases, has not been updated in 40 years and has allowed rents to skyrocket.
The Keep LA Housed (KLAH) Coalition wants LA City Council to vote to #CapTheRentAt3%, to keep LA renters in their homes!
New annual rent increases under LARSO went into effect July 1st and many renters have already felt the effects of the Council’s inaction. In order to avoid the next round of rent increases in February, we need the Council to vote on LARSO as soon as possible.
Tell LA City Council that LARSO’s rent increase formula needs to be updated to better protect tenants immediately. The rent in LA is too high - we need the City Council to cap the rent at 3% and adopt KLAH’s proposal to strengthen LARSO!
