On Monday, April 20th, 6-8pm, LA City Mayor Karen Bass will drop her proposed budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Just as City Council offices will be scouring through the draft budget that same day, we want community members to get a sense of what's in the budget too! Bring your laptop or smartphone, and join LA Forward Institute as we discover what's in the proposed city budget, formulate initial perspectives, and set up Angelenos to participate in public comment opportunities in the coming week.
Don't expect a training or workshop where someone talks at you the whole time -- this is everyone exploring budget documents together! We'll help you make sense of it, but your curiosity will guide the way. Food and drinks available!
