Regardless of who is Mayor of the City of LA, the Mayor's office will be responsible for an initial draft of the City's budget. RIGHT NOW, in November 2026, departments are *already* communicating with the current Office of the Mayor about their needs for 2027, which means we, the people, need to start organizing around a budget that represents community needs.
