Teach-In: An "Overpaid CEO Tax" for LA

It's nearing election time, which means many petitions are circulating in order to get new ballot initiatives onto City, County, and State ballots! For City of LA, LAANE has been collecting signatures to place an "Overpaid CEO Tax" on the ballot. The initiative would progressively tax large businesses whose CEOs make more than 50 times what their median worker makes – with higher taxes as the CEO-to-Worker gap grows more extreme. If passed, the Overpaid CEO Tax would generate more than $500 million of revenue for housing and other community needs.
