What Happened to LAPD Accountability Reform + Other Charter Reform Punts -- and Next Steps!

Since last year, thousands of you have helped push LAPD accountability through the charter reform process (our version of updating our city’s constitution). This change would require LAPD to follow laws passed by Council. Right now, Council can only make recommendations (wild, we know!)

Last week, Council voted 10-5 in favor of putting this reform on the ballot in November for voters to decide. The last step was to simply approve the ballot language.
