Maintaining our city shouldn't be this scary.
One year ago, the Mayor announced LA’s first-ever citywide Capital Infrastructure Program — a promise to finally invest in our parks, libraries, cooling centers, and streets in a clear, coordinated way. But one year later… no one really knows what’s happening. Delays, disagreements, vanishing updates — is the process broken, or just haunted?
Come find out with LA Forward Institute this Halloween!
Earn “budget bucks” through our ghoulish trivia to resurrect real LA infrastructure projects and see how your decisions might come to life.
Dress Code: Come as you are, but costumes are encouraged! Show up as anything inspired by infrastructure, being as literal, creative, or satirical as you’d like. If it touches how our city invests (or doesn’t), it counts. Maybe you’ll be a Ghost of a Project Past, Spirit of the Broken Sidewalk, or a Budget Cut. And we’ll honor the creativity, commitment, and chaos of these infrastructure costumes with our awards:
Climate Couture to the most sustainable costume
Show-Stopper to the costume most likely to be stopped and stalled midway
Permit Pending to costume that almost came together
