At a time when democracy feels fragile, LA Forward community members showed what’s possible when we work together. As we head into the holiday season, we’re grateful for everything our community accomplished this year.
Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved in 2025
We trained the next generation of civic leaders
LA Forward Institute launched two new academies — Deep CanvassingAcademy and LA City Hall Academy — graduating Angelenos who are already shaping policy, strengthening democracy, and even joining City Hall teams.
We defended democracy
We hosted trainings and teach-ins to resist authoritarianism – from learning about rapid response networks to boycott strategy. We also helped drive the decisive victory for Prop 50. More than 300 people joined us at CAN’T STOP LA: Community Power Festival, reminding us that democracy is strongest when we show up together.
We launched Think Forward and revived LA Podcast
We created Think Forward as a new home for independent LA opinion journalism — including weekly LA Podcast episodes, regular episodes of What’s Next, LA?, and a new forum for policy essays.
